All of this is probably silly as my glasses are photo grey and pretty dark inside. I have a whole list of brown MAC shadows and some neutrals I want to buy. The Benefit yellow eye cream stuff is also not too bad. This is still probably best since my eye lids are discolored and have been for over 20 years. I also tried the new Bobbi Brown eye shadow primer and do not especially like it… I had to get the light color, they were out of the medium. I have looked at Smashbox and Tarte especially… Nars is higher priced.Įye pencils do not seem to work as well as the cream shadows for me. Bobbi Brown has raised their prices and many of them have dups in MAC or Origins colors.I also found Benefit has a few good colors, both matt and frosted. Many brands only seem to have the frosted or metallic colors. I have used some other cream shadows and primers and many are glittery and metallic. Many of the MAC paint pots are metallic but… 3 to 5 are not and very neutral colored.(mentioned above) I also found Origins is a bit cheaper and has some good colors too. Some of this can be remedied by using an eye shadow primer… or one of the MAC paint pots.I found painterly and just love it… it neutralizes the darkness on my eye lids and by itself, makes my eyes look… well, like eyes… not made up.I think camel coat and ochre and another matt pink one, would work for other skin tones.I think I would like the ochre one as much as painterly. I recently found the MUGshadows and was considering them. The dups for MAC seem too good to be true.MAC would not be that popular if the dups were close enough… I find the cheaper shadows do not have enough pigment, are too sparkly or have fall out.
